C4 Grand Picasso MK2 Blower Motor / Resistor

Unread post by apcs41 »

I'm struggling with my blower motor. on my grand picasso MK2 2014 VIN# VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

It just suddenly just stopped working, replaced with a brand new motor #9849784380 & still nothing. I'm getting a voltage of between 3-12v from the resistor depending on the speed setting (14v in). I did notice that the V seems to drop as the speed goes up is that normal?

The rear blowers are going fine so i guess they have an indipendent motor?

I'm a little stuck, can anyone tell me, what voltage I should expect to see at the motor? Variable, up to 12v seems about right to me but maybe i'm missing something?

Any othe advice greatly appreciated.

When the blower on our Cactus stopped working a new resistor pack fixed it.

Thanks Paul, like i said I am getting a v out from the resistor & it is variable depending on what speed I set so I kind of figured that was working OK. I'm hoping someone can give me an example of what voltages I should expect.

On the Cactus I did not look at voltages but measured the resistance across the resistor pack pins, noted in this topic viewtopic.php?t=72595

Hmmm, mines a bit different. has 6 pins (3 pairs). V in +/-(B), V out +/-(M) & 2 pins for the controller I presume labelled fb in.

The resistance accross V- in & V- out is 500k V+ in/out shows 0 ohms.

Now i have no idea what this means lol so would appreciate any insight you might have. :)

I did not know what the resistances meant on the Cactus but was happy to find the old one was different to the new one which confirmed the old one was faulty.

So I gave up trying and took it in to my nearest Citroen repair center. The eolys fluid light came on & needed topping up & my local garage didn't want to / couldn't do it. I had them do a diagnostic on the blower, while I was there & they thought resistor too but didn't have one on stock to check & so didn't even charge me (just charged for the eolys) I got in the car to drive home & the blowers came on lol. I couldn't believe it. Don't know what happened or what they did but it's working again at least for now anyway.
