2010 C3 mk2 1.4hdi. Gradually got harder to start then would only start with repeated long cranks and now not at all. No EML, new starter few months ago, battery charged and seems like fuel flowing although filter due to be replaced.
Mechanic looked at it and he said camshaft sensor and/or glow plugs and quoted to replace. Would glow plugs stop starting and is it consistent with these codes? I’ve replaced camshaft sensor and still doesn’t start and mechanic said it might need fault cleared/reset first. He is now saying maybe try glow plug relay. Any thoughts? (Ignore air flow codes as we had MAF unplugged at that time).

You need to look at the live data whilst cranking it. You should get crank / cam synch changing to yes; cranking speed around 180 rpm; fuel pressure above 180 bar. The glow plugs code is almost always present, and doesn't stop it starting. Does it make any smoke when cranking to suggest that it's injecting fuel?
