Hello all and Happy New Year!
I have a 2007 C3 Pluriel 1.4HDi with BSM number 9664055480 L03 23/08/07.
I've had an ongoing issue for more than a year where the engine occasionally suddenly stops whilst driving with out any warning. Also no fault codes flag up on Lexia.
I have an opportunity to buy a BSM from a friend with a rear end write off. It is number 9664055580 L04 16/09/15 and it looks the same as my existing one.
Also I see one for sale locally with 9664055780
What I need to know is if there is any difference in pinouts or pin/fuse funtions of these BSM's
Any advice would be much appreciated
Best regards
Allan

Re: BSM Swap out
I have the same question. Can I use the Bsm of any 407 on my 407?

Re: BSM Swap out
Allan, these may look the same but the internals will be different. You need to match the original part number (96*) with any replacement, The hardware or software version may differ, which is fine, but the part number is what is important. The PSA part number was 6500FH which is no longer available from Citroen.AllanA wrote: 15 Jan 2025, 18:20 Hello all and Happy New Year!

Re: BSM Swap out
Hi Marc. Thanks for the info. I'm going to have a look at the one I mentioned above later today. It is a PSA 6500FH.

Re: BSM Swap out
That will be fine... but make sure that the seller is not just stating that - match it with the 96* number on the BSM itself unless it is boxed with the PSA part number 6500FH showing on the packaging (this is an internal PSA part number and likely will not be on the BSM - only the 96* number is printed on the part.

Re: BSM Swap out
All's well that ends well, as the saying goes!
I bought the BSM that was available. It looked identical to mine from 2007 (number 9664055480 L03 23/08/07) although it was from a 2015 Peugeut (9664055580 L04 16/09/15). As Marc helpfully pointed out the important thing was to ensure it was a PSA part number 6500FH
Once all reassembled and a BSI reset it started immediately and ran perfectly. All systems operated as they should and to date with 400km covered there have been no glitches.
