Hello. I have a Peugeot 508 2013 2.0 HDi FAP 140hp. It has the ‘Allure’ trim with Xenon headlights and LED DRL.
For a few weeks I noticed that most of the times I started the car at night, with the headlight switch on AUTO, either the left or right headlight would turn of/off for a few second and then would eventually stay on. Yesterday I got this warning on my dashboard ‘Check the dipped healights’. I got out of the car and checked, and the passenger side Xenon headlamp was turned off. I stopped the car and turned it back on and the headlight worked again without any warnings. I thought it’s just a random Peugeot hickup, as random one-time warnings of different kinds kept appearing from time to time since I own the car, without actually having any issues. However, when I started the car this morning at -11 degrees Celsius, the headlamp was not working, with the warning appearing again. I haven’t tried to restart the car as I was in a hurry.
Does this mean it’s a lightbulb issue or it could be something else, like a bad fuse? I found it strange that the lightbulb worked after restarting the car.
Thanks!

Re: Peugeot 508: Check the dipped headlights
Most likely the bulb or the ballast / ignitor unit. I would swap the bulbs side to side to see if the fault moves. If it's still on its original bulbs, then high likelihood it's the bulb I would have thought.
