Our C3 rear nearside wheel decided to suddenly bind on the way back from wifey's work. It eventually locked which then threw lots of codes ABS, STOP Brake System Faulty, ESR etc. On arrival I cleared the codes, tried reversing and got it to move. It then went forward freely with some brake rub. As soon as the brake is applied the brakes begin to bind and eventually locks again.
The codes only appear after trying to force the vehicle forward with a wheel locked. Rather than the code appears and the physical fault manifests.
Any ideas? Pad binding in the caliper and not returning? Brake fluid was visible in the reservoir. Pads not fully worn.
Surely a dying ABS sensor wouldn't cause the wheel to lock and would throw codes instantly?

Re: C3 Picasso 2015 Wheel Binding/Locking
Most likely a seized pad or caliper or collapsed brake hose. I suppose there's a chance the ABS has gone wonky and is holding the brake on, but seems remote. Lock it on then crack the bleeder to see if it releases, this will let you know if it's a hydraulic or mechanical problem.

The codes are probably since the wheel is not turning at the same speed as the others. Without clearing them, do they go once the wheel is free ?
