Retrofit 2023 Relay head unit into 2020 Relay?

Hi all

I’ve just purchased a 2020 Citroen Relay which I’ll be converting into a camper. I’m looking at options for updating the radio so I can use CarPlay, and so far see the common approach is to install a Chinese or branded double din unit.

However, is it possible to instead retrofit the updated OEM unit from the 2023 model which includes CarPlay (DAIICHI D716AF-P)? This is actually cheaper than a branded alternative and would hopefully offer better integration - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/116420684170

For reference, my 2020 van has this factory unit installed - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/276710686264. If you check the photos of each unit, they both appear to have exactly the same connectors on the back.

How likely is it I can just drop the newer D716AF-P head unit into my van? Will anything need to be coded and if so what’s the best way to go about doing this?

Can't advise you on this as it's a FIAT vehicle variant and uses Fiat components like the Head Unit. I can only advise on pure PSA vehicles with Citroen / Peugeot engines and parts.

What I can tell you though is that no, you can't just swap units, they are coded to the vehicle and in the case of Fiat variants require a Proxy Alignment with their diagnostics when introducing new equipment in order to pair it to the vehicle.

Hi everyone, it's my first post here.

I also have the same question, I have 2018 Boxer with 7" sat nav unit, I'd like to upgrade it to android auto unit from the latest models, same part number DAIICHI D716AF-P

I found one unit on Ebay from Citronen and wondering if it will be plug and play to my Peugeo boxer?
Any advice? Or if not how to make it work?
