USB Peripheral Error (DS3 2014)

Hi,

So this is a used 2014 ds3, but new to me.

Any time i plug in my iphone with the cable via usb, it comes up on the display 'USB Peripheral Error' and won't play my music via my phone, and i must connect via bluetooth. This wouldn't be too much of an issue as the cable still charges my phone, but it also interferes with me being able to play stuff easily via bluetooth as it keeps trying to play from the phone, and keeps popping up with the error.

Crappy Chinese cables most likely!

Do not use cheap cables with your vehicle - if they do not have the correct over protection circuitry they can damage the Head Unit. Use a proper Genuine iPhone MFI certified cable.

shame, i've tried a couple of cables but it just says usb peripheral error every time i plug it in. Could it be something to do with the car being 2014 but my iphone being more modern? i basically just have to use the usb port as charging only and connect via bluetooth, but there's some interference when it keeps trying to play media via the wire
