Hi all, can someone help me with a test procedure for a dw10bted4 engine Delphi egr valve test procedure. or at least a pin out diagram please.

Ùnfortunately the EGR test procedure is no use to me as the EGR actuator test is not available in diagbox. The air metering valve is available for actuation for some unknown reason. I Think it has either been mapped out or something weird is happening with the comms with the ECU.

Did you look for it under custom parameters? Some tests may not be included under standard parameters.

Hi Marc, I can see some data but the actuator test should be in the same menu as the injector coding I think. It's showing 0 % apparently means it is closed according to scanner danner because according to the wiring diagram it's power side switched. I will have a look again in a bit to see if it's somewhere else and post up the menus if I can. I think there is more going on than I initially thought and need to really test everything again. I need to understand why the car is doing what it is doing for my own head at this stage.

Do a Global Test, then select the Engine ECU from the list of displayed ECUs when it's finished.

Go into the engine ECU, then select, then from there you will have other options of which there should be a list of parameters for testing.

I tried to find it but couldn't find any actuator test but it's saying it is programmed. I think to test it I need to drive it. It did however just throw a code for a stuck injector or cylinder problem on cylinders 2 and 4. I will have to pull the 2 of these injectors and do a compression test.
I will do a voltage test on the egr tomorrow to figure out what way the egr valve pins sit in relation to the engine bay. It's too cold to do anymore Tonight. It's -10 on the dashboard so I think it is time to call it a night.i Have direction now at least.

I have the codes P12AB , P12A5 and P0406 Just one thing was the egr voltage was the same for maximum programmed as minimum. I found this a bit odd so I want to test a bit more for this reason.

Ok so I have checked the egr valve and the wiring circuit is good. The 5v reference is good and I found the 5v control wire and the ground is 0 volts . The other two wires have no voltage so I think this means the coil is bad on the solenoid itself.

So my tests were wrong. The egr is now working. It wasn't being used by the ECU because the injectors were not compensating for each other. I have changed the 3 of the injectors and now the egr is working.. the engine is running fairly nice now. I have to wait on it to cool down and see how it starts and runs from cold.
