Ds3 1.6hdi 2011 parking sensors are not working.
Getting the message parking assistance fault and the service light comes on then goes off after a little while.
I have tested all the rear parking sensors and they are all ok , I fitted four new rear parking sensors just in case but still no joy .
I have power going into the parking sensor ecu on the black plug (white wire) but no power on the blue plug . So I thought maybe the ecu was faulty so I tried. Second hand one but they still dont work . Does the parking sensor ecu need programming via a diagnostic tool.
Any she would be great..

Re: Parking sensors not working
Yes, the ECUs need configuring and there are different versions for these depending on build date and version.
Second, check that you haven't had anything spill out into the ECU from the boot - this is a common cause of faults. A proper diagnostic with Diagbox will be able to give pointers as to what the issue is and if a sensor, the exact one. Replacing parts though is a waste of money until you know the actual cause. It may be a fault in the wiring loom (water ingress) or a break, but generally any fault detected will disable the system until the next time reverse is selected and the self-check will run again.

Re: Parking sensors not working
Yes, but there should be no programming needed, unless you are referring to a replacement in which case, yes the unit has to be the correct unit and correctly configured.

Hi I have just bought a DS5 hybrid and when I put it in reverse I don't get anything on the screen or noises so would you have any idea what the problem could be. Peter

Does the reverse light come on as an indication if the reverse switch is working ?

Re: Parking sensors not working
Best thing will be to do a diagnostic to find out what is wrong, do not start replacing parts hoping to get it right before wasting too much money. However, you could check the wiring and connectors since this will not cost anything.

Re: Parking sensors not working
Solved my issue , took the rear parking sensor loom of and tested wires and found one broken /corroded wire . Fixed it and they all work correctly.
Thanks for your advice guys.
