Peugeot 407 XENON Ballast issue

Unread post by robertel99 »

Hello, i am the owner of a 2005 407 with factory xenon. Today I changed the bulbs to some phillips ones, they worked great until i got home and turned off the car. I wanted to see how they bright they are, but when i got to the front of the car i noticed the driver side(lhd) didnt work. I changed the igniters between each other, changed the fuse, even put the old bulb back, but still nothing. I have plugged lexia in, and on the left side i got an error(pic attached). Also, i have noticed that parameter measurement works, its just that there is no supply to the igniter. Now my question is, is PROJECTEURG the left ballast or is it something else?

First pic is of the right one with dipped beam on, the other of the right with dipped on, and the third is the left with dipped on.

This makes no sense to me, sorry?

B1118: Left and right ECUs compatibility fault (configure): Not characterised

So with this fault have you changed anything in the BSI with Diagbox to do with the lighting? Seems it's reporting a configuration error.

sorry i edited it badly, i meant the first picture is of the error code, the second picture is the parameter measurements of the right control unit with the dipped beam on, and the third picture is of the left control unit with the dipped beam on.

the error is b1112, i have not changed anything in the configuration, it worked perfectly until tonight.

i have removed the plug to the ballast from inside the headlight, sprayed contact cleaner on it and the ballast plug, it didnt looked oxidized but still gave it a try, and it didnt do anything.

i removed the ballast, and it is looking very good on the inside, no corrosion nothing looks blown. i have put the other ballast though and that one is working, so the left ballast is broken somehow.

Ok, so had to be the ballast or the supply to if there was no power - just be careful those things can give off 26k Volts initially to ignite the bulbs.

thanks for the heads up on the voltage i didnt know that good thing i didnt get zapped. the thing is the ballast works it gets recognized by lexia and i can do everything with it(configure, calibrate) except it doesnt want to send voltage to the bulb. eh i guess for the price of a dismantler ballast it is not worth the hassle to try and fix it.
