Good Morning French car fans. I’ve been searching this forum for a while now trying to get to grips with some issues on my new DS3.
I have just got myself a 2015 1.6 Diesel BlueHDI (I think)
The VIN is: VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]
Can someone who is available to read the VIN please tell me as much information about the car - I believed it had AdBlue being Euro6 compliant but can’t see no evidence of this. I’m not even sure on the spec of the car - I know it’s a diesel, it’s got a ragtop and I think it is a 1.6.
The car only has 28,000 miles and full service history which I’m pleased about. I gave it a full service the day I got it home - Oil, Air, Fuel, Pollen filters. New oil and coolant and a full tank of premium Diesel.
I have a basic OBD2 reader and some codes have come up. The codes come up ONLY having topped up the fuel, along with service light and check engine message. They cannot be cleared with the reader. However after the next restart of the car, the service light clears and an after a good run the codes clear themselves / show as inactive/archived.
The Codes are:
U0118(87)
P1434(96)
P1435(00)
I understand they are for the fuel additive system, but why do they come and go? I thought the bag normally lasts approximately 100,000 miles. If I wanted to change the bag which type will I need for my car? I have 6 months warranty with the car but doubt it would be covered due to it being a a usable item.
I also understand I need Diagbox to reset the codes after this work and I’m currently looking into a decent clone but I’ll search around the internet a bit longer for that.
I also have a knocking from the front passenger wheel but will look into that a little later.
Can anyone recommend a copy of the Citroen workshop manual that covers my car. Don’t mind paying for it but not a fan of the Haynes ones.
Sorry for all the questions, very new to French cars and looking forward to a hopefully quiet and stress free journey with this car whilst I rack up the miles. I’m also looking forward to participating in this forum.

Just a quick update:
Found the AdBlue Filling port in the boot, got the convertible model so that’s going to be fun to fill - am I right in thinking I can just use the Halfords own brand? I did ok my Jaguar XF and had no problems.
The knock was that the top strut mount bolt was loose, only hand tight. Hung off it with a spanner and no more knocks.

Yes, it's a 1.6 Blue HDi 120 BHP. Any Adblue is OK to use - but avoid the stuff off garage forecourts, the sun degrades it. P1434 / 35 is indicative of an issue with the tank (or the wiring) - you are right that the additive should last around 100k miles. A car this late will have a refillable tank, not a bag. If it's under warranty I would get it back and get them to sort it - it probably needs a new tank.

Our Cactus adblue filling nozzle is in the boot. I make use of a 1½ litre bottle (a small watering can would do) and a funnel, first partly fill the bottle from a 10 litre container then from the bottle into the car with a funnel in the nozzle. Wipe up any spills straight away before they dry up and crystallize but it is water soluble so floor spills can be swilled away. It can help to prevent future adblue problems by adding Wynn's adblue additive Crystal clean and protect. Adblue use I have found is between 1 and 1½ litres per 1000 miles.
