I bought a MOTORPOWER ELITE from Amazon as it was really budget. Plugged it into the used Citoren DS3 2014 eHDI 1.6 that I just purchased (81k miles)..
When loading the OBD2 check it listed 5 codes, but then when i clicked read codes it says 'No Codes are Stored in the Module!'
and here is the I/M readiness screen (not sure really what these mean!)
When i bought the car they said they keep the batteries disconnected in the lot with them just sitting there, could that be why some of these are greyed out? Or could it be that this budget scanner can't read these things?
What does this mean on my diagnostic scanner?

Please just upload the images directly to the Forum - it's less hassle for us to keep going onto other websites to see them.
Use the Full Editor & Preview Button to edit your post, Click ATTACHMENTS at the bottom, then ADD FILES, Browse Phone or PC, select images, upload and PLACE the image within your post.
From what I can see, you need to select the options where the 5 codes are listed under DTC - until you select this option and confirm the selection, it looks like it's just showing the summary screen.

Re: What does this mean on my diagnostic scanner?
Thanks for your reply, and teaching me how to attach the image! Much easier than uploading it elsewhere.
Forgive my naivety, I may be wrong in how I'm actually reading the scanner. So I've attached a few images below. I've been under the impression the symbol next to 'Codes Found', DTC and Pd-DTC is '5' however my girlfriend is adamant that it's a zero. It's such a small screen I literally can't tell so here's some images.

Well it's possible that you Girlfriend is right - may be the way the display shows the '0's!
It's also possible that your scanner is only able to show basic codes. It's very common for cheap scanners to only show standard OBDII codes and these can't always read the constructor-specific codes on full-CAN vehicles. So that's another possibility to consider. Ideally we tend to use a Lexia VCI with Diagbox, but that's a big investment for casual diagnostics to be honest.

I'd say it's a zero, it's in green too, so perhaps reassuring. Welcome to the world of electronic gadgets.. LOL.

Haha yeah that's true, except Pd-DTC was in amber so I was really unsure if it means there's 5 codes (but this budget scanner just can't read them)andyandjulie wrote: 30 Dec 2024, 19:37 I'd say it's a zero, it's in green too, so perhaps reassuring. Welcome to the world of electronic gadgets.. LOL.

Try one of the phone apps for confirmation maybe.

Re: What does this mean on my diagnostic scanner?
Agree that those are poorly animated slashed zero signs - aka no codes to show or at least none the scanner can read.
Seeing as N/A means not applicable and mil status is off it all looks alright to me.
Also if it cannot show you any actual DTC codes that must mean there are zero.
I'd expect it to be able to display some actual codes if it had read any.

Re: What does this mean on my diagnostic scanner?
Pd-DTC might be pending codes so ones not yet bad enough to put the engine light on. You should still be able to delete these but first you should be able to see what they are if you can look under pending codes. When deleting it is done with the ignition on (dash lit up) without the engine running. Since you have no idea when these were generated, once deleted then scan again once the car has been run a bit.
