2023 C4 Shine+ wheel lock nuts?

Unread post by Maxr »

I just bought a used 2023 C4 3rd gen Shine+ diesel auto. This car came with a disclaimer to the effect that there are no locking wheel nuts. It does come with unusual tall and narrow tyres (195/60R18, for comfort?) - you'd have to be hopeful or have a customer with a C4 lined up, to bother to nick them. This is the first car I've bought for years that doesn't have locks - was/is this a standard Citroen thing, or maybe the previous owner was in the habit of losing stuff (ie the wheel nut key), or are there good reasons for not having them (like not living in a big city)?

It's amazing how often Citroen's car specs change and how illogical the changes and spec names are. This C4 Shine+ has heated cloth seats but non heated steering wheel - electric cars have both. At one time, Shine+ had electric adjustment front seats (but not memory seats like the 14 year old Volvo I traded for the C4) Now they're manual or a £500 option for electric but non memory driver's seat only, with massage! - again, unless you buy an electric car, when you get the electric move but no massage, I think.... In Jan 23, they removed the subwoofer from the boot of the Shine+ , not that it makes much difference. It's got so complicated the dealers often don't seem to know what's supposed to be on a car.

Not sure what you're asking here (if anything :-D ), but specs change frequently on models and trim levels - and can alter 2-3 times a year as does the pricing to try and remain competitive. They can also add one thing and take away another - or remove something to make it part of an option pack - so never go by a brochure to find what you should have as it may be a brochure produced at a different time to when the car was built - or a late registered vehicle that could already be a year old..... and therefore last years' specification.

Locking wheel nuts are only provided for alloys as standard. If they are missing it's not uncommon for a previous owner to have had one break off and therefore removed the others and replaced them with standard wheel nuts.
