Android app that monitors the DPF?

Unread post by andyandjulie »

Hi all

Can anyone recommend an Android app that will let me monitor the state of my DPF? (2017 DW10 DS5 2.0 auto) I've had a Google (hours) but it's a bit of a minefield..

Also a handheld devices like the Launch CRP123X V2.0 etc? (130GBPish)

Obviously not interested in spending a fortune but want to keep a watchful eye on it now..

Thanks

Andy

I don't think that's even possible, if the car can't tell you how can an app tell you? There's to many variables, no way can an app can take that all into account.

I used to have one for my Vauxhall Insignia. But since I changed to the DS5 I have been unable to find one.
I have tried several but none work so I think we are out of luck for DS.

First you need to get this relatively cheap device:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006 ... 1802cVMI0j
Then you need to install this program: https://faplite.en.aptoide.com/app
It's a free version. The app is great but it has a problem that it doesn't support newer cars. Mine is 2021 and not supported.

Thanks again Mihael, that looks very interesting. It does seem to monitor DPF and the additive level and lots of other things too. I'll definitely look at that app.

Got the Vgate Icar2 BLE dongle meself just recently, but haven't tested it on my DW10FC 508 yet.
Can't find the FAPlite app on Play Store, but will check if Car Scanner can display the info you're looking for.

FYI that FAPlite link only gave an APK to install Aptoide, which appears to be less secure version of Google Play.

Hi Muir

I found latest version of "FAP Citroen/Peugeot ELM327 OBD2 (V 1.62)" app on Amazon Appstore for about 9 GBP. I downloaded it yesterday but no time to try it yet. I already have an ELM OBD2 Bluetooth adaptor so hoping they will connect.

I have Car Scanner too but I don't think it monitors DPF functions, but may be wrong.

Just tried Car Scanner with Vgate Icar 2 and it seems to work fairly well, reads a lot of PIDs at least.
It has several profiles that a Peugeot/Citroen/DS specific.
Is yours a DW10FC 180 engine with a Delphi DCM6.2 ECU? If yes you should be able to use the profile in the screenshot.

I don't have the luxury of starting mine to check live readings right now, which is (hopefully) why several PIDs are blank.

Hi Muir

Yes mine is the DW10FC engine with a Delphi ECU. Not certain of the "DCM6.2" model number. I would like to be certain of that. Perhaps somebody else on here could advise or tell me where to look. I'm sure Marc might know.

I have connected to Car Scanner through an ELM327 and have got as far as the screenshots you posted, but like you, some of the info. is blank. It doesn't appear when the car is started either. I paid for the Pro version thinking this might be the issue but it made no difference..

Thank you for your response.

Okay sorry to hear it's missing that info, I just didn't have the luxury of starting the car atm now to confirm it would be populated.
Did you have any luck with the app you found on Amazon?

Hi Muir

Actually if you scroll a long way further down on that Car Scanner page you screenshotted there's much more live information about the DPF that does show readings. It's a bit of a faff.

But you can create a dashboard of the sensors that you are interested in for much quicker access. It's actually quite a neat little app. for £9.

No, that FAP app. will not recognise my ECU. It's a shame that they can take your money, the ad. is misleading.
