Hi All,
I'm sure this has been asked many times before, but to be honest it's confusing the hell out of me. I've just bought a 2012 C4 Picasso and want to add bluetooth support to it without changing the existing stereo. I know I can use a radio transmitter, but the sound quality isn't great. The car I have also has reverse sensors, which I believe will stop working if I put an aftermarket headunit in ? Where do I start please ?
Thanks,
Andy

You can't add bluetooth to an RD4 except with the aftermarket options you have already mentioned that use a transmitter type interface. There are plenty of cheap options out there on Amazon.
Replacing the Head unit with an RD45 requires the RD45 unit, a microphone installation, replacement MFD display of the correct version and software type and of course programming with Diagbox. That's just the way it is with a 12 year old car - but bear in mind that these head units were designed years before production, so the tech is even older.

One of this style of device will work, and tbh I'd not look to spend more on the RD4,kronosone wrote: 03 Dec 2024, 06:14I've just bought a 2012 C4 Picasso and want to add bluetooth support to it without changing the existing stereo.

Both are fundamentally the same thing, one is marginally easier to fit.
If you want a better-integrated solution you could look to change to the similar RD45, though if you don't already have a Diagbox tool, it may be better value overall to look at an Android head unit instead.
