Hi All.
I have a 2013 hybrid 4 which has developed a problem, I think with the rear motor assembly and hope someone might be able to point me in the right direction.
When I engage A, and depression the throttle there sounds like an engaging problem as it crunches at the rear and then a sound that's like a turbo spooling up which I think is the electric motor spinning up but not engaging to whatever transfer box.
I intend on taking the rear electric motor off the car tomorrow to see it there is something obvious that can be seen once dismantled. I have not been able to find an exploded diagram or any videos on the removal process but seems fairly straightforward.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Re: DS5 hybrid 4 noises from rear electric drive.
I am really surprised after 3 weeks that not a single person has been able to offer a single piece of advice even to get me pointed in the right direction .
Maybe I wasn't clear enough. So engine starts and everything works okay, engage gear either forward or reverse, and the electric drive attempts to move the car but then the engine kicks in. And as it does so there is quite a audible noise as if the gear is engaging but not properly. As soon as I take my foot off throttle a little bit the engine stops but the electric does not move the car and then the engine kicks in again and tries to move it with almost a jerk which moves the engine a lot.
I am just trying to understand if it is the rear motor pack that is the fault because the battery is perfect as I have tried it in my Peugeot 508 hybrid.
I am just not sure if it is the hybrid motor and transfer box which has a problem or it is the dual mass flywheel which is having the problem.
Any advice of course is gratefully received.
Merry Christmas to everyone

Sadly these are not very common, and only just reaching an age where problems like this are likely to develop. It dies sound like the 'gearbox' ( whatever it amounts to) has failed. It's quite likely only available as an expensive complete unit!

Hi Richard.
Thanks for your help.
After beginning to strip all to get to the motor and transfer box, the rear right side drive shaft triple bearing that sits in the joint that attaches to the Tfer box, had split in 2 pieces and mashed completely the drive shaft. Ordered 2nd hand on eBay to fit after Christmas.
Hopefully that's the only problem..... Fingers crossed.
Merry Christmas to all.

Thanks for the update, I hope that this is a one-off problem. Let us know how it progresses.

Hi all.
Everything sorted. It was that bearing failure in the drive shaft coupling..... Would not have believed it.
All faults cleared and is driving without any problem. Now to book for MOT. Just trying to sort the SERVICE words on the dash.
Happy new year
