Hi all my drivers door is showing as open. The van has previously been broken into. There is some damage to the door skin I'm not sure if this is the cause of the issue. Sometimes it will lock if i lift the handle it will lock. i have read that a wire can be cut to stop this happening. Where is the switch that tells the van the door is open located? some advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

With the door open, close its latch around a screwdriver and see if it still shows as open. Just a test to see if the latch is closing fully. I believe the switch that tells the car the door is open/closed is built into the door lock.

Re: Citroen Dispatch drivers door door not locking
Mine is a 2010 and the wire is in the lock itself. Haynes BOLs diagram shows 5 or 6 wires depending on whether it has dead locking or not. From the wire diagram I narrowed it down to 2. Of course with it being 50/50 I cut the wrong one on the first attempt and had to re-solder it. As Paul says, confirm the lock with a screwdriver first before chopping. Only downside if you do cut the wire is you lose the interior light when the drivers door is opened but at least you can lock the van.

Re: Citroen Dispatch drivers door door not locking
So tried to manually shutting the lock with the door open and it locks no problem. So thinking that it might have been the latch on the B post. Wondered if i could flip the latch over as there was some wear on it. Big mistake as the numpties that designed the fixings for the latch isn't encapsulated nuts because why would you make it easy.. Its a metal plate which then falls to the bottom of the B post. If you are really lucky like i was it falls through there is a hole at the bottom of the B post and ends up nearly in the sill. You then get the pleasure of removing the plastics and seat belt. Next trying to squeeze man hand in to a access panel that only a small child could reach into. So decided to get me magnet on a stick. which i must have put in a safe place because i couldn't find. So next a fridge magnet on a screw drive. after 30 mins of swearing at the van and commenting on the inabilities of French designers i got it out. Next to get the plate back into position to refit the latch. so another 45 mins of trying to balance the plate on a length of copper tube. Eventually i got it back in.
So the moral of this story is don't remove both screws.
So my next question is if the door locks with the catch manually put across. where do i go next? does it need a new lock mech in door or new latch as it is worn.
sorry for the long post but it was so annoying
thanks in advance jason

Re: Citroen Dispatch drivers door door not locking
My nuts were were captive (don't) and I could remove the the hasp and flip it over, made no difference. My door showed as locked with a screwdriver also, and if you lent on the door. Tried ovalling the hasp holes to move it outwards, no joy. The switch in the lock was the issue I concluded so new lock mech or cut the wire. As you're in the UK with a RHD see if a tat yard has a lock. Not an option for me with a RHD in France, so cut the wire.
