Re: peugeot 205 fault code reading
If it's anything like the AX of the period fitted with Bosch injection then it'll be the connector nearest to and part of the Injection ECU wiring harness.
May I ask the reason why you wish to read the codes?

On a 32 year old car loads of wiring connectors can be a poor, especially earths.Best have a look at everything with a can of electrical cleaner, including the main earth that bolts on the top of the gearbox. There are not many multi plugs on those old 205’s.
It’s a very long time since I worked on the mono injection TU engine. There is a large multi plug that fits on the mono unit. Pull it off and clean it all up. I think there is a couple of small ones as well.
You would be better off with diagnostics, if you could find an old school Peugeot/Citroen specialist who still has the old Peugeot Diag kit.

Agreed 100%. To be honest, I've never enjoyed a lot of success with blink codes on these...Oldpug wrote: 28 Nov 2024, 08:53 You would be better off with diagnostics, if you could find an old school Peugeot/Citroen specialist who still has the old Peugeot Diag kit.
I used to have the Peugeot version of the Citroen ELIT diagnostics. Long since passed on although I still have an ELIT. I could pretend it's a Citroen with the same engine/ECU and read it...
Also, modern Lexia/Diagbox systems will also still read these ECUs provided the VCI has the appropriate 2-pin diagnostic adaptor leads. Mine has...
99% of TU Bosch monopoint problems in my experience are with the throttle pot causing poor running an massive flat-spots...
