308 sport bro. Usual p1338 issues depoluttion

Unread post by Pug308sportman »

Hi everyone

I’ve used my diagnose on my daughters 107. It diagnosed the fault. We repaired it all sorted

However on my Peugeot 308 sport 2008 and 2010

It shows fault codes but not the problem

I’m not a mechanic but have been improving skills

I splashed out on diagbox and it prefers 7.62 version on these older vehicles

I’ve replaced many parts already

Spark plugs, crankshaft sensor, cam sensors, solenoids, oil pressure sensor, oil level sensor, thermostat housing and internal radiator due to heating issues

I can’t decipher the fault, misfire cylinder 2, fan running, fault displayed on dash

I’ve followed so many flowcharts but struggling now!

Any help would be appreciated

Welcome along.

Something wrong with your pics as they are all black. What engine are we talking about?

Seems to be the Prince engine.... doesn't have the best reputation.

Misfire can generally only be caused by lack of spark, fuel or compression. You've changed the plugs, so I would swap 2 of the coils and see if the fault moves. Then a compression ten, Then do the swap with the injector. This should tell you which bit is missing. If it's a compression fault then further mechanical dismantling is required.

On these engines, misfire codes can also be triggered by bad valve timing, either because the (non-keyed) sprocket has slipped on the crankshaft, or just timing chain stretch.
