Hi folks, first time posting so go easy on me please.
My 2014 MK2 C4 picasso has no handbrake at the moment,I took it to a highly recommend autospark and it has been diagnosed as rear right caliper motor issue,he says that changing the motor alone should cure the problem, apparently the motor can be swapped out for a replacement one leaving the caliper untouched,is that correct? your in-depth knowledge will help me with the next step I take.
Thank you.
Ps,the handbrake light switch is not illuminated nor are there any fault lights on dashboard,if that helps.

Yes, the motor just unbolts, a couple of small bolts (T30 maybe - you need a long bit). Note there are two types, you will need the earlier 4 wire type. The wires to the motor run unprotected in the conduit - common for them to rub through, worth checking this isn't the problem first.

Thanks for the reply Richard,he did mention that it's usually the wiring loom but seems convinced it is the motor,is there an issue just disconnecting the old motor and reconnecting replacement motor? I'm thinking about will it through up fault codes?Tia.
