Hello fellow forum-goers,
I recently saw a video on how someone modded their C5 so that there would be a dash button to open the motorised bootlid: (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MV-5Pdz ... B372tQcXnE).
I wanted to do the same. I have those three blanking plugs where there's room for three buttons. I thought there's probably a loom in there anyway. However, I removed the buttons behind the right-hand stalk and there was no connector, no loom, no nothing.
I know sometimes cars are made with the same looms so as to cut costs, so my question is: is there a loom or a connection that I can attach a cable to?
Thanks in advance!

No. Original wiring looms are NOT the same and are fitted according to options at factory. You should also be careful NOT to splice into any CAN wiring or expect issues with electrical systems.

Oh, pants. What kind of electrical issues are we talking about here? Is it absolutely impossible?

No, I'm just saying be careful what you do Looking at this mod, I don't know where he has got this switch module from but there are 12 types of switch that go here, depending on build date and equipment, and none of them have these options as you can see from the latest X7 manual with touchscreen. I suspect this is from some Chinese supplier and he has no instructions or links, so I'd take it with a pinch of salt.

Thanks once again for the input, Marc. It's from a Peugeot 508.

Re: C5 X7 Wiring Loom for buttons behind the stalks
That'll be why then - it's obviously a feature Peugeot put into some of their models. Although they may share similar BSIs, there's no guarantee it will work.
It annoys me why these people put up these videos without any clarification. There's no guarantee this will work on your vehicle as you may have a different electrical system / loom / BSI than the bloke in the video. As you don't have that connector, it suggests you have a different harness, so I would avoid experimentation in case something else goes toes up.
