Hi All I have an issue with my C4 Picasso airdream 1.6 HD 115. Pressing the lock button operates the central locking mech fine and all motors can be heard inc the boot. The issue is the boot doesnt actually lock. If I lock the doors and then try to open the boot it opens no problem. Is there a timer on the boot mech when locking the doors?
Regards
Kenny

Re: Boot lock issue
AFAIK there is no 'lock' on the boot - there is no direct connection between the switch and the lock - the signal goes via the BSI. When the car is locked the BSI simply ignores, or doesn't see, the signal from the switch. So that's possibly indicative of a BSI failure? Does it appear locked if you allow the BSI time to go to sleep (a couple of minutes)?

Re: Boot lock issue
Thats correct, when you lock the car nothing actually changes or moves inside the latch mechanism, it just simply doesent open it when its in a locked state.RichardW wrote: ↑18 Nov 2024, 14:47 AFAIK there is no 'lock' on the boot - there is no direct connection between the switch and the lock - the signal goes via the BSI. Is this a proximity handsfree key?
If so are you sure its not opening because you have the key on you? try locking the car then taking the key well out of range of the car & see if it still opens.
