306 Central Locking Problem

Post by Gashead »

My drivers side has recently developed a strange fault.
When activating the the central locking with the remote fob, all the doors work with he expection of the drivers side door. For example if the car is locked and I open the car remotely, the driver side door will remain locked. It will however open if the lock is turned manually.
Any suggestions would be great.
Thanks

I think this is a common fault - to do with the wiring going to the drivers door - there is a loom in going between wing and door - probably a broken wire there, have a search on the forum for similar threads...

Check to see if the solenoid has become disconnected, i just had probs with my locking on my 405 and it was caused by that

Do you know whereabouts in the car the relevant solenoid is, bearing in mind mine is a 306 ?
Thanks

Suggest checking behind the door trim, had same problem with a ZX and the solenoid/actuator is in the drivers side and is just slotted over a bracket, mine had fallen off. Does the drivers door manually unlocking with the key open all the others, if it does not this would suggest the solenoid.

If I turn the key in the lock it opens and locks all the doors.
I guess this not a solenoid problem then[?].
