Citroen C5 which series ipod

Hi just got a 2008 C5 and noticed there is a phono and what looks like ipod connector in the glovebox. As I can't use my usb stick does anyone know which generation ipod I can use, many thanks

The trouble with phone / RCA connections is that there is no track control over the unit, so you can only control volume and must set it playing before you drive off.
