Encyclopaedia Mendacea revisited

Post by tomsheppard »

Yep, its another for the fabled book of lies. Debugging the ABS I discovered that according to Haynes' circuit diagram the ABS light could not be earthed if the computer was removed. so it wouldnt light up. It did.[?]
Plan B. Wonder if it is on Bob Smith's site?
It is; and what's more, it is accurate! Thanks Bob.
I wonder if Haynes has abandoned writing proper manuals after death threats or kickbacks from Citroen dealers[}:)]

My 1st car in 92 was a Astra.Everything i done to it was covered in the manual,no probs.Made from proper paper as well.
As the years have gone on,every other manual isnt as good as the one from 92.The jobs just dont go as per manual."Simply undo & remove" is a favorite saying. But it isnt "simply".Makes you wonder if they actully striped the car.Also.the paper now used is like blotting paper, one bit of oil & its buggerd.

Like everything else in this country the Haynes manuals have been dumbed down.
