Hello
In previous cars I had a cobra dash cam, but I fed up to have cables all over so I decided to retrofit an original Citroen dashboard camera into ds7. There is not much information anywhere that a camera was an option in ds7. Found first some proof on YouTube video, and later on on some pre delivery documents from DS. I started digging in parts and wiring diagrams and here we go)
According to parts catalogue everything depends from RPO number. Mine was lower than 15731 so I needed a camera with this part number 98176128XT. Found it on eBay. After couple days it turn up. I ordered in Ds service 2 base covers DS BASE COVER 98212232ZD and DS BASE COVER 98212233ZD (Left and Right) (cost around £27 both). This take some time to arrive though))))). In the meantime I started to check the camera itself. Found a wiring diagram and connected pin 1 (BSI + after ignition) and 3 ( Earth). As I didn't have a plug, so just insulate those 2 pins and filled up the whole connector using a glue gun. Connection is solid))) I order it a bolt and spire nut from Ds as well (£2). According to the wiring diagram camera and rear view mirror are connected to the same pins in BSI (pin 28 BSI + after ignition and 32 earth). So I dismantled plug from mirror and solder camera pins into pin 1 and 2 (small black plug). Put it back together and Voilà )))
Camera is working perfectly, but there is 2 buts)))
My connected cam app working only on older Androids - (my android phone got Android14 and there is a problem)
Second, when I was browsing thru BSI setting there is an option to turn on video recording. Camera is working but probably you will get some fault (nothing on the dashboard). Didn't check that yet.
My next project will be retrofitting Adaptive Cruise Control and power Boot. So stay tuned)))
