Is this the right start stop battery?

Unread post by kirkjames1 »

My 2019 1.6/225 DS7 has never engaged its start/stop in the 2 months I've had it (the light just flashes a couple of times but engine does not turn off). I am not very bothered, I've read about how these can be a bit temperamental on this forum and it's not worth looking into it for me.
Except, since I know the battery is the #1 requirement, I'd like to make sure that I at least got it with the right start/stop capable battery from the dealer. Any idea? TIA

This battery is start-stop capable . If you charge the battery, start-stop system, will work again until battery reach 12.5 and above. This is a safety limit for the ecu not to stress any further the battery with start-stop option, so the car can be functional. Personally, i changed the exact same battery on my used 508 when i bought it, because it was in the limit, around 12.4 V.

No.With the engine off, we measure with a multi meter the volts, which must be at least 12.5V. With engine on and running, power must be 13.5V in idle ~ 14+ V in high revs. Though, there are many other parameters that must be consider in these sophisticated cars such as the strength of the battery and other factors. In any case it's better to addressed to an expert to test the battery and choose a same spec battery if the old is damaged.
A quick guide is this one.

Look at the tyre pressure label on the car, down the bottom it may have the battery spec on it.
Hopefully it should say (at least) 760A (EN) EFB
