Hi everyone,
I'm seriously considering buying a used C5 aircross 2019 and I had it checked up when some fault codes came up.
Could you please help me understand the error codes and if any of them point to some large issue that I would need to spend a lot of money on fixing after buying the car?
Using the forum and google I have figured out some of these (in parenthesis), I was just given the codes by the checkup place.
It's important to note that the owner of the car changed the battery around a year ago, in a garage that should know citroen cars, but I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't do it correctly. Could all of these faults arise from that battery change? will a BSI reset solve it all? The owner will not deal with these things as he is trying to just sell the car.
Diagnostic Report VIN: VR7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff].
The fault codes from the test:
1. B173E (Fault In Authenticating The Mechanical/Electronic Key Or The Hands-free Remote Control Present In The Reader)
2. B1808 (Immobilizer release problem)
3. B1163 (License plate lightning)
4. B162C (accessories positive relay control and status not coherent: Relay commanded but inactive)
5. B133D (Window lifter relay down)
6. B1715 (Lack of coherence between the vehicle locking status and the locking status of the front right door lock)
7. B1716 (Lack of consistency between the locking status of the vehicle and the state of locking of the front left door lock)
8. B175C (suspected failure of the door opening switch on the driver side)
9. B1865 (illegal input state)
10. B1805 (Starter Fault)
11. B173A (Driver's door presence detection error)
12. B1418 (Fault In The Status Of The Seat Belt Fastening Information For Determining The Presence Of The Driver)
13. B100C (ECU Supply Fault)
14. B11B9 (Passenger blind spot warning indicator supply)
Once I will buy the car I will take it to the garage and do a proper fix and investigation of everything that is needed.
For now I just want to know if I can buy this car without worrying too much about fixing costs, since these faults are the only thing stopping me.
any help would be appreciated, thanks!
Should I buy a used C5 aircross 2019 with so many fault codes?

Most if not all of these relate to the BSI. So you have some electrical faults that need sorting, but there's too many to go into here.

If these are going to be easy and cheap to fix the current owner of the car would have done it or might have tried already. So if you go ahead with buying the car make sure you get it at a very low price.

But....... Garage labour charges could have made it too expensive, so could be cheaper if you do it yourself.
Or buy it with a warranty..... And make a claim

Have all/any of these codes been cleared in the last year and they've come straight back, or are they old codes that just haven't been cleared yet ?

Could have just been a flat or bad battery causing havoc with the ECUs.
