Active damper fuse / C5 / X7 / 2012 / 2.2 HDI

Unread post by hhordiichuk »

Good day to all forum participants. I own a 2012 Citroen C5 X7 Tourer car, 2.2 HDI engine, complete set exclusive. I have a problem with large vibrations at idling speed of the engine, let's determine that their cause is the active damper system, namely the drying of the lubricant in it. At the moment, I have no way to replace or repair it, so I wanted to disable this system for a while until I fix it, but I can't find which fuse is responsible for this system. On several forums, people disconnect the power plug from system that is under the car, but I'm wondering if it can be disconnected with just some kind of fuse? In the user manual, there is no specified fuse that is responsible for the active damper system, I only found a photo for a Peugeot 508, but I have a completely different fuse block...
I will attach a photo of my fuse block and a photo I found under a Peugeot 508 to the topic.
Thanks to everyone who can help.

I don't think you can, the damper ECU is powered by MF2 - a maxi fuse, but that's not good removing that as it will cause other failures with equipment that shares it. The active damper ECU is in the engine compartment, but the actual active damper sensor is located inside the vehicle. You'll need to remove the electronic handbrake trim to get into the area of the centre binnacle.

BUT, be very careful NOT to allow the harness (4) to come into contact with the sensor:

You may be able to disconnect the connector (b) to the active damper sensor (3) temporarily, but do not try and remove the sensor or its support.

Caution Notes:
  • The positioning of the harness (4) has to be as indicated above, it must not have any contact with the active damper sensor (3).
  • If the positioning of the harness (4) is not as indicated above, make sure to position it correctly when refitting.
  • Do not handle the components by the cable. Do not expose the components to fluids. Do not drop the components. Do not pull, push, twist or otherwise deform the rubber component.
  • The active damper sensor (3) and its support are inseparable, do not remove the active damper sensor (3) from its support.

It’s only a suggestion of course, and I can’t guarantee it won’t throw up any errors but nothing that I can think of.
