106 Immobiliser
My daughter has a Pug 106 98 R plate and I need to change the immobiliser induction ring on the ignition barrel as it appears to be intermittent. To do this the lower cowling requires the steering wheel to be removed by about 1 cm. Can you do this without disconnecting the air bag and how dos the cover come off the steering wheel. I have a manual but it fails to tell these things. Regards Peter

the transponder recever on the ignition barrel can be changed without removing the steering wheel, the lower cowling can flex quite a bit to allow it to be removed.if you feel you need to though you have to remove the airbag first-disconect the battery for at least 2 minutes, the airbag is held on by two T-30 screws going into the back of the airbag,to acses the screws you need to turn the wheel a quarter turn each way, disconect the plug from the airbag then the steering wheel is held on by a T-50 size bolt.
