Cut wire on alternator exciter plug?

Unread post by Tipovtong2 »

Hoping someone has any info or wisdom!
I am getting into the later stages of replacing alt/BPGA/State of charge unit and I have just noticed a severed wire on the alternator exciter 2-pin plug.(pic 1)

As visible on alternator (pic 2) only has one pin?
Before I start pulling my hair out because I am not sure if I did this when I started the job
Or is that wire on the exciter plug redundant on my model(150a) ?
Cheers.

That is normal. If you open up the alternator there is nothing connected to that pin.
