Re: Aux port
Your vehicle is way too early and if you do have an AUX port (usually only on the higher end RT3 units) it is only basic audio with no control over sound source, music tracks, fast-forwarding or Rewinding - only volume.adiopeto wrote: 19 Oct 2024, 15:19 In my Citroen c5 2006 phase 2 I wonder if I have an aux port. How do I know if I do and where can I find it. Also any tips on connecting my phone to the radio whiteout an fm transmitter because it distorts the audio a bunch. Help pls.
The AUX port was really only for connecting audio from an old style music player - but as said has no control of the device as it is audio only - and not recommended because of the distraction will driving.
If you have a port, it will be on a unit in the passenger glovebox.
As said, you will really have to use something like the Yatour or an FM transmitter.

Re: Aux port
I'm using a BT receiver connected to the RD4 unit through an aftermarket AUX port cable thingy. It's working great, and everything I need is a phone connected to the internet or a memory full of MP3s.
You'll need an AUX cable, a BT AUX receiver and a PSA diagnostic tool (to enable the AUX port). I didn't have an appropriate diagnostic tool then, so I paid a local mechanic 10€ to turn on the AUX port.
I bought these from AliExpress, but you can find similar items in almost any online shop:
AUX cable https://www.aliexpress.com/item/3303800 ... pt=glo2vnm
BT receiver https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003 ... pt=glo2vnm
There are more elegant solutions, with a direct BT to AUX connection, but I went with this one since I like to have an optional AUX port if the BT connection starts making trouble.
There are many YT tutorials on how to install everything.

Re: Aux port
Is there a CD dongle let's call it that turns a signal from a phone , let's say via Bluetooth that is received In a CD thingy that goes in the CD slot. It's quite outstanding I know, but I realy can't find the right bandwidth for the fm transmitter. Any tips on setting that too?

Re: Aux port
A CD input connector to the Head Unit is what is used by some Yatour and other models to mimic a CD changer in order to play music files (not Bluetooth in this case) and relies on you having your music files on a USB that plugs into the Yatour. The Yatour connects to the CD changer input at the rear of the of Head Unit, which then thinks you have a CD Changer installed and can play music organised into 6 folders, each containing MP3 files. This is as close as you are going to get and will be the best quality available to you and will allow you to select tracks, skip, fast forward / rewind etc. using the vehicle controls.
There is no 'Bluetooth Thingy' that will work with your Head Unit - it does not have Bluetooth!
