Citroen relay key programming
I hope someone can help. Two years ago we bought an old Citroen relay 2009 long wheelbase minibus and converted it to a campervan at the time we were only sold it with one key. Now we have ordered a second key from our Citroen dealership, but they have said they’re not able to program the key because one the Citroen is too old and they don’t have the appropriate software/firmware for it and they also said the cloning module is locked and they can’t do anything about this stop does anybody know of a service? I will be able to go to who would have the ability to clone/program the key for this 2009 relay Van?

Your dealer is talking complete nonsense. If its a dealer key all you need is the 5 digit security code & its a 5 minute job.
I would advise contacting a local auto locksmith to program it as they will be able to extract the security code from the car so you can stay away from the dealer.

Have a look in your handbook/documents to see if you have this code card, this is the code you need to program a new key, dont worry if you cant find it as a decent auto locksmith can get it for you from the vehicle.

Thanks for those replies but apparently that isn’t the problem. I have the code and the dealer says that’s not the issue. This issue is that the age of the vehicle means that the software it uses is earlier than the software they have at the dealer it’s a 2009 year, Citroen relay minibus . The man in the service centre tells me that the built-in system interface is locked and it means they cannot talk to it and cannot extract anything including the bin number or anything required in order to ask the Van to program a new key or have a new key programmed to it.( I’m sorry if my language is not perfect, but I’m trying to say verbatim what he said to me )so with this locked BSI unit , there’s a chance I may not be able to get another key done at all. He has told me to try a mobile locksmith which I will do but if there are any other suggestions from anyone I would be really grateful.

Re: Citroen relay key programming
The BSI is definitely not locked on this van, they started using ‘locked’ BSI’s around late 2017 however they are not ‘locked’ to a dealer tool anyway as the dealer tool bypasses the secure gateway.
The Citroen dealer tool still currently supports way older models than yours.
I wouldn’t waste anymore time with this dealer, go to an auto locksmith & you will likely save some money too.
Out of curiosity which key do you have? The newer oval type or the older rectangular type?
