I can run faster than my 1998R Xantia 16v auto (new shape)
It's been the same since I bought it 6 months ago, has 127,000 miles (with full history). When accelerating from standstill it is so painfully (and dangerously) slow. Once it's going it's fine, kicks down fine, plenty of power etc.
Has anyone come across this before?
I wondered about getting the fuel ECU checked as I can sometimes hear a slight pink when it gets to a hill or i suddenly put my foot down (not to kickdown). Or wondered whether at this age the torque converter could be getting weak. To reinforce this idea, the car is fitted with a towbar, which of course was never used for a caravan........(I never knew trailers needed twin electrics)
Any ideas before I begin a process of elimination and any good ideas of a decent MPFI specialist not a million miles from Romford?
