DS 7 Headlights travel to Europe

Unread post by kirkjames1 »

I am a bit at a loss of how to travel to Europe with a DS 7 Crossback Prestige, that seems to have the auto-adjusted LED headlights. With my previous cars I either used the "load" control that dips them both manually, or the stickers. I can't see how the sticker would work with the 3 LED lights, and I don't have the manual control either. Am I SOL? Should I just try to limit my night driving as much as possible (hard to do in the winter)?

This is one of the more annoying things that I expected to find in this car and are missing. The second most annoying is probably the adaptive cruise control, because I can see the front camera right there, so it has the hardware, it's just a decision to put it on an even higher trim!

Hello. My friends went to Europe for a trip recently. One in ds7, second in peugeot 3008 p84. Both of them didn't put stickers on the headlights. They haven't got a problem with other road users. 3008 driver mention that he turn off automatic high beam mode only. Both of them change speedo to kmh. Automatic adjusting works as usual (they been fully loaded with bikes etc). So you shouldn't have any problems whatsoever

There are two types of systems for adaptive cruise control. On some vehicles it’s camera only and on other vehicles it uses both the camera and a radar unit in the front bumper.

Obviously, the system with the radar provides more options. The camera is of course used for other features

I have read a few more reports from DS7 users about not annoying the drivers in Europe without actually doing any adjustments themselves, so it seems I should be fine, which is good news.

About the cruise control, I am just a bit miffed because I had assumed I would have it from seeing the camera in the front. Not that I would not have bought it otherwise. It might indeed be missing something hardware, although it does have the collision alert which I'd expect to be on a similar principle.

I've just checked your VIN and you have the early first generation built on 12th February 2019. It doesn't have 'adaptive cruise control' fitted (ARTIV), so you have normal cruise control and a speed regulator on this vehicle.

The camera will be used for the collision alert system, like my C3 Aircross and possibly lane wandering.
