Rear brake replacement fault on retraction in maintenance mode

Unread post by Manutdbo1 »

Hi,
I was changing the rears on the peugeot for the missus who took the brakes down to an impressive 0 percent and disk lets not mention the disks.

Fronts went fine. No problems as expected.
However on putting car into maintenance mode and retracting brakes for disk and caliper removal a fault occurred I think it lies in the right hand caliper as that's the one I was starting on, and now the fault won't go away the fault is a permanent C156D I have the fault report list unsure how i attach this however.
The car is peugeot 308 2017 (t9).

List of issues. Motor for caliper runs but seems to chase I.e doesn't know where it is.
Handbrake electric - doesn't apply at all.
Stop message on cockpit screen.
Abs/eps fault u1313
The battery appeared lower than normal but not low enough for an issue.
I can activate and deactivate the motor no problems however setting and retracting piston doesn't seem to work.
One of the carrier pins seems a little sticky so will clean replace associated parts.
I've never had an issue with this but seems to have gone mental on me.
If anyone has any idea I'd be greatful to hear 🙏
I can provide more information if needed but that seems to be the main points.

Thanks in advanced for help if provided.

Does this have the 2 wire or the 4 wire actuators on the handbrake?

Good question I am not at home but the part number for the caliper is 16 107 624 80 which seems to show 4 wires on parts catalogue. I'd have to double check that though

Should have said Welcome Along!

2016 / 17 is on the change over from 4 wire (power and feedback) to 2 wire (power only) - at least on the C4 Picasso. The Picasso suffers from wires chafing though in the conduit to the rear brakes / ABS sensors. My guess is you have a broken wire and manipulating it to change the pads has finished it off.

So. Update.
The rear right caliper is caput dead it will not wind in and out normally I'd take apart and fix repair but new born better be safe this time new caliper ordering time.
Also the connector and wiring was through to core and corroded.
So a replacement loom or connector but can't seem to find the part number required any one know of one ?
The connector is 2 pin.
Thanks in advanced if anyone has advice
