Ventilaton control with AC turned off

I have a automatic AC in my 307 break. Is the ventilation control suppose to work when the AC is turned off?

Well I assume so, if the car wasn't fitted with AC then it would work, all cars are built the same way, optional extras will not stop the car from working, unless electrically controlled.

There seem to be multiple versions of the A/C control panel, but they usually have a button marked A/C or ECO. This button turns off the A/C compressor (with some exceptions) and leaves the ventilation operational.

There may also be another button or knob which turns the whole system off, including the fans and ventilation.

Thanks for the clarification. So I guess, if I only want to control the ventilation I have to keep the AC on (off disables the ventilation fans - just keeps the outside air intakes open), either in ECO mode (no cooling) or normal mode
(fully automatic control of temperature and ventilation).

Not a very smart design choice in my opinion. They could have put the ventilation on a separate circuit so you could turn it on even when the AC is off or not working.
