Re: Radio does not power down when keys removed
It won't if you have wired it to a permanent feed instead of ignition switched.

So your saying the ISO socket car side has 2 live feeds and no ignition feed that powers down when key removed

Thinking about it, these are integrated into the BSI and are controlled by the VAN network - so it's likely your after-market unit is not completely compatible. You'll likely loose trip computer and MFD display options for vehicle configuration too.

Re: Radio does not power down when keys removed
Is it possible that the radio is expecting the ignition controlled feed where the permanent live feed is and vice versa?

No, without any radio fitted there is 2 constant live feeds, both stay live when key removed, I would have thought 1 should be constant live for radio memory and the other power feed should come from ignition feed and only power on when key is in.

Found reply from earlier thread, which answers the question

Note that if you fit an aftermarket head unit, the dash display for the radio and time/date will stop working (and you won't be able to change the time/date). You will need to run in a separate ignition switched power supply, as the OE radio is switched by the BSI, and if you just connect it up, then it won't switch off at key off, or other odd behavior may occur.

I believe this refers to a C4 Grand Picasso, rather than a Xsara Picasso.Fullrotation wrote: ↑02 Oct 2024, 15:41 Found reply from earlier thread, which answers the question

I have a Xsara Picasso with an aftermarket head unit. The only thing I've lost is the display no longer displays the radio station.
It doesn't turn off with the ignition. I had the same issue with my Berlingo. The way to solve it is to use Diagbox to reprogram the vehicle and tell it the head unit isn't present. It then worked as you'd expect.
