Hi, my saxo diesel is not starting and i narrowed it down to a diesel solenoid stuck closed because im not hearing it click, and the car turns over fine and when i put easy start its starting.
My question is.. my pump has the bosch armature to prevent theft on the solenoid, i removed all the bolts and the 2 bolts without a head, there is a split pin remaining holding it on and for the life of me i cannot remove it, am i correct in that i need to punch it in to remive it? Or pull it out?

What year is it?
Keypad or transponder immobiliser?
Have you done basic checks like fuses?
Cant remember this pump off hand but most of them need to be removed off the engine to get to the stop solenoid.
There is a big black 9 pin relay for the immobiliser attached next to the radiator on some models , it was known for the wiring to break right at the plug as it was too short. Worth a look.
It's kind of in the location shown below.

Re: Citroen saxo no start
Fixed it, the roll pin needed to be pulled out not hammered in, it was the solenoid stuck closed, the bosch immobilizer shield was a complete nightmare to remove, i installed a used good solenoid and ran a new power wire to it and now starts and works, though the immobilizer light is now constantly blinking csuse the connector is disconnected, nothing to do about that i suppose. The pump is also leaking diesel slowly, next month ill take it to a garage so they refurbish it, its never been touched in almost 200k kms

New problem today, car not shutting off, after driving 1hr turned the key to off position and it continued running although badly. I removed power to the solenoid and revved the engine then it stopped

Check the oil level, it might be running on the oil in the sump.

Sounds like the rubber nipple on the end of the solenoid is knackered
