C4 GP2015 (BSI2010 => U1F67 87 - No comm. /w control box for signaling)

Unread post by gibman »

hi all.

Got a C4 GP 2015 VIN: VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

When starting the car I hear a single beep and is greeted with a yellow engine warning.
It says "check the side lamps".
When activating the right signal lamp using the indicator arm I then get another beep followed by the message "check the direction indicators".
If I blink to the left then I get no message.
The message is only displayed once per driving session.

Fired up diagbox and tried to clear the BSI2010 errors (see attachment). Sadly the errors are persistent.

The culprit error is: U1F67 87 - No communication with control box for signaling

I have been driving around for a few weeks with the connector for the "hazard warning lights" button unplugged before the error occurred.
(The reason being I had an issue with one of the speakers so I wanted to wait a few weeks before properly re-assembling things.)

Sadly reconnecting the plug for the hazard button did nothing to fix the error :/

No idea if it's related to me driving around a few weeks with the hazard button disconnected or not.
It might just be a coincidence ?

All lights are working though.
Should I replace the indicator lights even though they work ?
maybe BSI reset procedure ?

I found this video here with exactly the same issue.
Now it's fixed :)

BSI reset was the cure.
Maybe the issue happened because I disconnected the battery more than a few times during my above mentioned speaker / radio troubleshooting.
