citroen C4 II atmospheric lighting lamps in the front ceiling

hello everyone, for 5 days now I've been the happy owner of a 2014 diesel 1.6 diesel with 115 horses, and it's just great for what I need it for, I want to ask the old owners a question, on the front roof it has ambient light bulbs but they don't light up, maybe because the version is medium and not rich, does anyone know how I can make them work since the interior lighting at night is very poor
I opened the ceiling and saw that there is a lamp, I just don't know if the rich version has an extra plug , or if it has something to do with some fuse in the fuse box, thanks in advance

If you don't have them you can't 'activate' them, they won't be there. The 'Ambient lighting is via LEDS and these ore only present on certain equipment, as there are multiple lighting units that could be fitted, depending on trim level. I can check what you have if you provide your VIN. Please post your VIN in full without spaces - it will be automatically masked from public view after submitting your post & will only be visible to staff.

Whilst looking at this, I take it you don't realise you have an urgent Safety, Emission or Compliance Recall outstanding regarding your Airbags! I suggest you contact your dealer ASAP and quote reference (JGU - C3 (A51), DS3, C4, DS4, DS5 - Airbag), which involves replacing the airbag module according to following rework instruction. The work will be free of charge, but as you obviously don't have your vehicle serviced at a dealership, they won't know how to contact you..... But given the dangers of injury that some of these airbags are causing or going off randomly as read about in the press, I would not wait. The recall has been in effect from 13/12 2023.

Back to the Ambient lighting issue:

So I can confirm that you do not have the this option fitted. You just have the standard light fittings without ambient lighting.

especially for the issue of the recall, it is very serious and I did not know about it, (and my 2 children will also be in the car)
it impresses me, however, since until 2022 the car was taken to an official dealership for service by its owner... he also has the service book, and no such work has been done, it is understood that I will make an appointment immediately,
as for the ambient lighting, well, I can live without it, since the car is pleasing to my eyes and very beautiful inside and out (I have a ford kyga st line and I don't mind driving it from the moment I got it c4 )

This may be because the servicing is yearly, he may have had the vehicle serviced just before the notice was issued (13th December 2023), so for example if he had his service done in November 2023, he wouldn't be due for a service until this coming November, at which point they should pick it up. That may explain why.

Even though not fitted, is it possible that "giorgostap" may have the wiring for these LED's and he just needs to get the units, then activate through diagbox?

Hard to say Stu, as there are so many variations of the wiring harnesses for the cabin, multiple lamp units and even on the ambient versions there are different types of lamps / units and they are a different fitting and size.
