Weird Activa Issue

Unread post by yoseff »

Several times it happened , but only yesterday evening i captured it in video (I'm just unsure how to share it here)
When there is humidity or heavy rain , my activa when opening a door (any of them) will blink the internal lights like a discotheque , and we can hear a "Clack, Clack, Clack" noise at the same time (sounds like the EV's opening and closing).
Next day in the sun will not make it.
Anyone had that experience before? Have no clue on what it can be , or if it can be a worse problem (Hopefully it is just annoying)
Can post the video as soon as i find a way (Unsure if youtube is the only way)
Any inputs are welcome

Check for wet and dampness under the front footwell carpets... There's a few connectors under there up near the bulkhead that can get damp and cause symptoms similar to yours...

I had one instance where the footwell were centimetres deep in water and the connectors so corroded I had to cut them out and rejoin the wires using splices.

On RHD cars, the connectors in question are on the passenger (LH) side. In LHD cars they may be on the other side...

Wetness under the front footwell carpets indicate a breakdown of the windscreen scuttle sealing... Water usually enters via the heater box intake.

Also, if the heater box drain is blocked, water and condensate can leak out into the footwells. All this happens unseen.

The heater box drain can be seen near the steering rack if you look up from underneath the car.
