First the symptoms, gears select and the changes are smooth apart from sometimes I struggle to get it out of fifth, it then seems to disengage but the stick is stiff and doesn't appear to be connected to anything then with some jiggling it will go into second or fourth depending on how it feels.
This all happens of course when slowing for a corner or whatever, I have tried to provoke it on quiet straight roads to give me time to investigate but sods law won't play ball.
Looking on the forum I'm guessing change cables or selector rods, is there a way to check which? if it is the cables it appears I will need Citroen locking tool 9607-T which go ogle doesn't recognise is this item dealer only or is there a work around.
Thanks in advance

Re: Gearchange Probs
Can't remember if it was you or another member I replied to recently regarding a C3 Picasso and the gear control cables, but in either case on this model, there are no cables available separately. They come as a complete unit attached at factory to the actual gear lever as you can see, item (1) - so the separate picture top left is the actual part that is a complete unit.
(1) Gear Control Lever, part: 9803397380, £342.41
You're also correct about the tools - they are internal references from a set that the dealer will use often containing different variants for different vehicles, so not always available to the public.
However just google for a ball joint fork and you should find loads - one that will work for 10 mm ball joints is what you need if replacing it.
