207 Hdi mystery 'heat shield'

Unread post by freddyokel »

Changed the air filter on my 207 1.6 HDi today.
Air filter as you may well know is in a totally stupid place and whilst wiggling the box at the back of the engine, this thing fell off and down the back of the engine.
Anyone got any idea where it should live?

Err... just so you know, that sticker is from a turbo charger :-D

I think it's worked its way from the turbo to the under body protection at some point.... but also is referenced to a Citroen C8....

It's so weird.
The part number screams turbocharger but it seems like the sticker has been on it forever (since 2008). It was certainly down the back of the engine near the firewall when I dislodged it.
The turbo on the 110 1.6 HDi is right on the top/front of the engine as you open the bonnet.
The back of it is foil/metalised so that's what makes me think it's a heat shield.
This 207 is a mystery that keeps on coming... :(

Similar stuff on the C5 bulkhead between the engine and body, always got in the way when working on turbo or glow plugs, maybe someone tore it off to make space.
