Hi everyone my 1st post here and thank you for accepting me.
I've a Renault Master MK2 converted camper on an 04 plate, it has standard air blower into the cabin, no air con unfortunately.
The van tends to fill with a diesel smell when the fan is on, it's subtle to start with but when driving you have to have the windows open no matter the weather as the fumes become quite strong.
I've changed the mass air flow and we had a small break in the engine air pipe, but I've sealed that as the car was smokey, but that now sorted . We still get the smell in the cab though.
Is there a pollen filter in the car to change? As in the engine bay there's a big air vent cowling without anything in it, which I assume sucks in air to go into the cabin.
If there isn't a filter there, has anyone an idea as to why the cabin would fill with fumes whilst driving?
Any assistance is appreciated as going out in it for a day trip or holiday is not that pleasant.
Many thanks all.

Re: Renault Master MK2 1.9 cabin diesel smell question
Probably not the case with your van if it's coming through the fan but a common fault with vans is poorly sealed back doors, smoke from the exhaust is sucked in from there whilst on the move, you can see why when you look at the muck on the outside of van doors sucked up by the air displacement as the van moves through.

Re: Renault Master MK2 1.9 cabin diesel smell question
Many thanks for the thought on this, much appreciated. I guess it's possible but I'd have thought the smell would be stronger at the back of the van rather than the front which it is.
Does the 19Dci have a ventilation filter, as they may not be there or very dirty, but the smell is diesel ish in smell.
I'll investigate the back doors etc. but my hunch is it's coming through the vents or coming in from the bul head somewhere?
