Hi everyone,
I recently installed an Android head unit in my 2013 Citroen DS4 1.6 HDi, which originally had a small monochrome display. The new Android unit comes with a CAN bus module and displays some vehicle information, but it looks a bit unusual and not user friendly. I'm wondering if it's possible to modify the software on the instrument panel to behave as if the car had the original OEM navigation screen. I'd like it to show things like error messages and trip computer data there, instead of only displaying my speed in huge numbers
Here are some photos I found on Google:
Any advice would be appreciated!

If you fit after-market kit, don't expect the vehicle to be compatible.

Re: Citroen DS4 Informative instrument panel. Is it possible?
Thanks for the feedback, Marc.
My idea is more about finding out if there’s a feature in Diagbox/Lexia that can activate the more informative version of the gauge cluster.
When sunlight hits the LCD at a certain angle, I can see all the symbols that my car never displays, like the ones for the automatic gearbox (D, N, R) – even though my car is a manual. It makes me think the cluster is capable of showing more information, but it just isn’t enabled. I could be wrong though. Just thought that it would be an interesting topic to discuss.

Re: Citroen DS4 Informative instrument panel. Is it possible?
My advice is not to fiddle with it. I've seen numerous cases where owners have 'fiddled about' with BSI settings to try and get more info displayed than is available and ended up bricking their vehicle - lit up like a Christmas Tree.
Displays are designed for specific engines, gearboxes (Auto, Semi-Auto, manual), diesel / Petrol / Hybrid etc. etc, and for the specific type of Head unit and MFD fitted. Some options are mandatory and if changed will end up causing problems. So I suggest you avoid experimenting unless you want issues (there is no backup and restore).

Thanks for the warning, I appreciate it. That's why I ask here first. I didn’t realize there was such a risk with changing the cluster settings and that it cannot be reverted back. I think I’ll avoid messing with it, as the potential issues seem to outweigh the benefits.
Thanks again for the advice!

Re: Citroen DS4 Informative instrument panel. Is it possible?
It took me 6 hours on the phone remotely to help a member in Romania who had inadvertently changed some settings in the BSI and restore his system. Needless to say he had palpitations throughout and vowed never to touch it again
He didn't realise that some options were not what they actually said they were and that changing them from the mandatory settings would cause failure for the specific equipment / display and options fitted on his vehicle. Luckily I was able to help reconfigure the BSI, but it took ages and not something I want to do ever again personally speaking!
