C5 X7 Gearbox faulty and vibration on idle. Strange things, please help!

Unread post by thundermaster »

Good evening everyone!

The car continues to vibrate on idle, slightly on P, R or N mode and worse when on D mode. with slightly flickering lights on cabin (like bad power). Battery replaced with new.

The car's engine revs slightly all the time and when the a/c is turned on the problem gets worse, at least for the first minute.

From the alternator point there is a bearing sound or I could describe it as an old diesel car engine sound. This sound is mainly heard when the a/c is activated, or when the suspension is raised. Also, when I turn the steering wheel mostly to the right, I feel a vibration in the steering wheel as well and this sound comes back occasionally. When I step on the gas pedal around 1200 rpm the sound stops, even with a/c on, but as soon as the car comes back to idle the sound comes back. When I turn off the a/c it also stops, but when I raise the suspension it starts again even with the a/c off. I tried disconnecting the 1-pin connector that the alternator has on it, and found that it doesn't change anything. It is noteworthy that a month ago and immediately after for the second time after about ten days the alternator belt became a fuse and came out of its place. Replaced with another belt. At least the last one installed 20 days ago seems to still be fine. I don't know if I should take it to an electrician or a mechanic.

At random moments the gearbox goes into safe mode and locks in 3rd gear (gearbox faulty). By turning the engine off and on the problem subsides until it reappears. There is a case that on a very long route of many kilometers this issue may not appear at all, but sometimes it appears over short distances as well.

The errors given are:

P250D electric oil gauge: voltage too high, (broken wire)
P1674 Controlled alternator mechanics: Not characterized,
P1676 Communication with the controlled alternator: Not characterized,
U0103 Communication with the gearbox ECU, no signal,
P0010 Variable Valve Gear Solenoid Valve Command. Coherence.

BSI: 040A Oil gauge fault.
05FF Unexpected re-initialisation Fault coming from the BSI.

I remove the small 1 pin connector from the alternator and nothing happens.

Thanks to all for your help.
