2015 DS3 Update Firmware

Hi,

Would anybody know how to update the touchscreen firmware on my DS3, Apple Carplay is not installed and I wanted to know if the latest update is installed, Would this include it? Not sure if my model is compatible VIN: VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

Is their any free update possible?

Your VIN is incorrect and missing either a character or a digit. You only have 16 it should be 17.

Ok so you have a SMEG system.

VIN states system not supplied with Mirror Link (Android), so unlikely to support either CarPlay or Android Auto. You'd have to check to see if this is possible via the dealer as I can't ascertain this from the detail available.

However, aside from that , you vehicle has an outstanding after-sales campaign, that involves the following that has been outstanding since 2017 with reference GCH.:

GCH - SCR cap

Checking the fluid tank filling cap for the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) device, and replacing it if necessary. In some cases, the tank will need to be replaced.

I suggest you ring the dealer - any work will be free of charge.

So they said that they cannot install for me, but from my understanding it is possible but I would first need to update to SMEG 6.3 and I am currently on SMEG 6.1

Does anyone have the link for this update?

Only Apple CarPlay is supported on SMEG+IV2 head unit from sw 6.1.D.R20 onwards (no AndroidAuto on any sw version). Just CP needs to be activated at dealership!
You can of course update it to the 6.3.D.R6 (avoid 6.3.C.R11) or to the latest 6.4.A.R10 version, but you'll still need activation of CarPlay at dealership as the authorised connection to Stellantis servers is required for adding that feature.

On the bright side: activation of CarPlay only takes about 10 minutes of diagnostic labour!
