I need advice what type of sparkplug is the best for my C5 X7 with the ES9A V6 3.0/24.
Is it better to use platinum or Iridium sparkplugs.
Greetings,
Kees.

Re: Sparkplug advice
PSA usually recommend BOSCH spark plugs. I would look up the BOSCH website.
You might not have a choice. Sometimes there are no platinum or Iridium versions of that plug. IMHO Iridium is over rated. You don't get much in return for the price. But It's your money.
IMHO platinum offers the best value for money.
Neither platinum or Iridium will give you better performance (in real-world terms). They will give you a much longer service life.
All plugs last about 100000Km (at best). Regular nickel/copper plugs would need to cleaned and gaped every 20000Km. Platinum will need to be pulled out and cleaned every 30-50000Km. Iridium could go the entire 100000Km! Now I say could because it depends on the state of your engine!

Re: Sparkplug advice
Thanks for your reply.
A few days ago i checked what type/brand i put in, when i just buy the car in 2021.
They are NGK Iridium LFR5AIX-11P.
These ones are good and have just 40K behind, so they will last at least for an other 40K.
Greetings,
Kees.

Re: Sparkplug advice
The coils are no longer available from Citroen Kees, but the plugs have a revised part number of: 5960G0 and are Bosch FR8SPP332., £23.46 each.

Re: Sparkplug advice
I have always used NGK plugs in ES9 engines with no problems, which reminds me that I should check the condition of the plugs in the XM.
