607 blowers not functioning

Unread post by 607Fan »

Hi there, Hope everyone is enjoying the BH weekend.

On Saturday, the blowers in my 607 cut out without any warning, no strange noises or anything - they just stopped working.. Wasn't great as it was pouring down and needed the screen dimister to work.

I've checked the fuse and all seemed to be in order, I swapped it out just in case.

When turning the heater / AC on, there's a faint noise like it's trying to turn it on but nothing happens.

I'm presuming it may be the motor that's gone but can't be certain.

The thing is, I'm due to be heading to France for a driving holiday on Wednesday so zero chance of getting it looked at beforehand what with tomorrow being a BH and my having to work all day on Tuesday. Can anyone recommend a garage in France (we're starting at Calais) that may be able to help? My French isn't particularly strong!

Any other ideas welcome!

If it is the air con cabin blower it might be its resistor pack has failed. This happened on our Cactus a while ago when the blower stopped working whilst in use and a new resistor pack fixed it. They can be quite expensive, for the cactus at Citroen it was about £220, I got a OEM one for £110 but cheap ones from China were £30 to £50.
